Key rings & Key Fobs
A keyring, key chain or key fob are used to hold a set of keys. The keyring consists of a split ring onto which the keys are attached, the key chain is a chain that often attaches to a key fob – an identifying label or novelty adorning object. A snap hook is often added to attach the keyring to a belt so it doesn’t get lost.
Key fobs are commonly collected by all types of people. The vast variety of key fobs is due partly to the fact that many businesses use key fobs as advertising, creating novelty objects that feature their logo or business name. Key fobs are also sold around the world as souvenirs for tourists. They make great mementos for travellers since they can act as a reminder as they are carried around every day with their keys, they are inexpensive, easy to store, and gender- and age- neutral.
Many key chains also carry small items that are useful in everyday situations. These can include electronic key finders, Swiss army knives, bottle openers, scissors, family photos, address books, nail clippers, mini torches, screw drivers and so on.
