Belt Buckles
A belt buckle fastens two ends of a belt together, being attached to one end and fitted to the other when fastened. Their origins are unknown, but they have been around for at least 1500 years. However it has only been recently that ornamental buckles have become popular. Ornamental buckles are usually removable, and attach to the regular buckle on the belt.
Ornamental buckles serve to make a statement, whether in support of a sports team, a band or a make of car. They are also used as an advertising medium by companies, such as batman buckles sold at theme parks. Over the last decade there has been a trend towards personalising belt buckles, including monogrammed buckles and name buckles. LED belt buckles are quite a new phenomenon as well. These can be programmed to display your name, or a scrolling message, and basic graphics.
